STUDIO STAFF-GALLERY - A few meters from Reykjavik`s main shopping street, the cozy looking Studio Staff remains a respected and discerning gallery/workshop, specializing in works of art by significant Icelandic artists as well as 19th-century antiques. It also offers secure conservation and authentication services to its clients.

Studio Staff is a gallery/workshop specializing in the conservation of fine art and art sales on commission, offering a variety of services to collectors of modern Icelandic art and antiques. 

Studio Staff also organizes one-man exhibitions of choice 20th-century artists, Icelandic as well as international.

Studio Staff conserves and repairs works of art, traditional and modern, and provides expert advice on their cleaning and excellent framing. The staff is available to advise you on the general handling of works of art as well as their preservation and presentation. 

Whenever possible, they will provide you with assessments of value, along with certificates of authentication and transport.

In 2010, Studio Staff presented with the Myndstef (Union of Copyright Holders) recognition for unfailing professional conduct in its dealings with customers and artists.

CONSERVATION 
Studio Staff specializes in the preservation of paintings and sculptures, as well as antique objects with wooden, canvas or plaster surfaces. 

Studio Staff conserves and repairs works of art, traditional and modern, and provides expert advice on their cleaning and excellent framing. Our staff will be able to advise you on the general handling of works of art as well as their preservation and presentation.

The Studio only uses materials and chemical substances which have been used professionally for decades, even centuries. In every case, the objective of our conservation experts is the preservation of the original appearance of the art objects under advisement.

Studio Staff is owned and run by conservator Viktor Smári Sæmundsson. He is an extremely experienced specialist in the field of Icelandic conservation. 

For 16 years, he served as head of the conservation department of the National Gallery of Art.

Framing 
The long-term preservation of artworks on paper is dependent on quality framing, the use of choice materials and correct workmanship.

Studio Staff offers an assortment of picture frames for paintings and works on paper, as well as non-reflective glass with built-in ultraviolet protection for highly sensitive works.

Open weekdays 13.00 – 17.00.
